Wednesday 20th March: Lunch, and Beetle Drive. 12noon at the parish hall. Tickets £5 from Anita, Deryck or Ben.

 

Sunday 24th March:  nature walk along Wood House ridge. A chance to see somewhere familiar from a different point of view. If you're interested have a chat with Luke. 

 

St Michael's Photo Exhibition. Subject: our Environment. Maybe your favourite local view, or a holiday snap of an amazing landscape, or a close up of a flower, or a squirrel eating, or lamb frolicking. See Poster in Church.

Charity of the Season

Harehills English Language Project

Harehills is a vibrant, multi-cultural community but not without its problems of high unemployment, drug addiction and anti-social behaviour. Many families, find themselves on the margins of society with little or no income, living on benefits and suffering from isolation and loneliness. H.E.L.P (provides education, including social and cultural activities, to improve the well-being and confidence of learners and to support inter-cultural harmony.

 

The Lent Course this is year is based on the TV film Broken which was broadcast last year. The course subtitle is ‘a course about real life and real faith’. The aim is that it will help us to engage with the realities of life and how they can be framed by faith in Jesus Christ. As Leonard Cohen said:

‘there is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in’.

You do not have to have seen the film to

engage with the course,  Parish Hall on Wednesdays at  7.30pm

 

CTH LENT LUNCHES  Lent lunches every Friday until 12 April, at Headingley  Methodist Church Hall, Chapel Street, 12.15pm for 12.30pm until 1.30pm.  The cost will be £3 and the theme is ‘Encountering Jesus.

 

LENT PRAYER DIARIES are available at the back of the church.  Suggested Donation—£1.25
